Centro Internazionale di Studi di Architettura Andrea Palladio

The Centro Internazionale di Studi di Architettura Andrea Palladio was founded in Vicenza in 1958, with the aim of creating a research centre for the history of architecture where an international community of scholars could meet and work together. The Centro promotes research, stages exhibitions, publishes books, and organises courses and seminars on architecture.

Since 1958, more than 7,000 young architects and architecture historians have come to Vicenza from 50 countries to attend the 153 Centro’s courses and seminars. The research projects have led to the publication of 235 books and journals, and the staging of 120 exhibitions in 56 different cities in a total of 26 countries.

Since 2012, through the Palladio Museum the experts in the Palladio Centre illustrate their research and studies to a wider public as their work progresses. The Palladio Museum works on Palladio, using the tools of accurate historical reconstruction with special care being taken over context. The Palladio Museum’s mission is to explore the origins of themes and concepts also found in the architecture of today by describing and discussing them with a view to creating a cultural platform for the architecture of tomorrow.
