53th course on Palladian Architecture
Meet Palladio

The 53 CISA course on Palladian architecture will be proposed again this year in its traditional form and is organised on the basis of visits to Palladian buildings, including some of those that are rarely visited.

The villas include: the Foscari villa (‘La Malcontenta’) at Mira, the Trissino villas at Meledo, villa Pisani at Bagnolo, villa Godi in Lonedo, villa Barbaro at Maser, Villa Emo at Fanzolo, villa Cornaro at Piombino Dese, villa Caldogno at Caldogno, villa Porto at Molina, villa Capra (‘La Rotonda’) in Vicenza, Villa Gazzotti at Bertesina, villa Thiene at Quinto Vicentino, villa Chiericati at Vancimuglio, Villa Poiana at Poiana Maggiore, villa Pisani at Montagnana and villa Badoer at Fratta Polesine.

The Palladian buildings in Venice are the church of the Redeemer and the San Giorgio complex, while those in Vicenza include the palazzi Civena, Thiene and Barbaran da Porto, the palazzi da Porto and Thiene Bonin Longare, palazzo Porto in piazza Castello, palazzo Valmarana, palazzo Chiericati, casa Cogollo, the Valmarana chapel, the Olympic Theatre, the Basilica Palladiana, and the Loggia del Capitaniato.
