Joaquín Bérchez is a renowned historian of Spanish architecture and for many years he has also been a professional photographer. The two activities complement each other: Bérchez uses photography as a medium to narrate and visually recreate architecture and landscapes.

Bérchez’s photographs have been exhibited in many Spanish cities and various international galleries: the Queen Sofia Spanisu Institute (New York), the Colegio de Minería (Mexico), the Palladio Museum (Vicenza), the Università degli Studi di Palermo (Palermo), the Real Academia de España (Rome), and the Museu Arte Popular (Lisbon). His photographs have been published in international magazines, such as Franco Maria Ricci’s FMR, and for over ten years they have featured on the covers of our Annali di architettura.
