You are standing in the residence of Montano Barbarano, home of the Palladio Museum since 2012. It is both the museum venue and one of the works on display: the exhibition itinerary unfolds through its rooms and the palace itself was designed by Palladio.

The Palladio Museum is not only an exhibition and education space but also an ideas lab where the scholars of the Andrea Palladio International Centre for Architectural Studies communicate their studies to the public. The history of the Centre goes back to the Second World War, when bombs badly damaged the city. To guide the urban reconstruction, this research institute was created as a place where the international community of architectural historians could gather and work together. Since then, we have been promoting research, organising advanced courses and seminars, producing exhibitions and books, and introducing children and young people to architectural culture.
